Lorena Ochoa reaches points milestone toward LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame qualifying (read More)
MORELIA, MICHOACAN, Mexico, April 13, 2008 – Lorena Ochoa became the second-youngest (see chart below) LPGA member to meet the points qualifying criteria for the LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame with an 11-shot victory today at the Corona Championship in her native Mexico. With the win, Ochoa earned the 27th and final point needed to qualify for entrance. However, Hall of Fame qualifying criteria requires an LPGA Tour member to also have been active on Tour for 10 years, therefore, Ochoa will be eligible for entrance into the Hall of Fame in 2012.

LPGA Playoffs is a yearlong competitive structure that splits the official LPGA season into two halves. Fifteen players from each half qualify for the ADT Championship, plus two wildcards. The winner will again earn $1 million, the largest first-place prize in the history of women's golf.
The Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings—which was developed at the May 2004 World Congress of Women's Golf—is the first-ever world rankings system for women's golf sanctioned by the five major women's professional golf Tours: the LPGA; LET; JLPGA; KLPGA; and the ALPG, as well as the LGU, which administers the Weetabix Women's British Open. The Rolex Rankings are the only women's world rankings that incorporate player performances from the five major tours and the Duramed Futures Tour, the official developmental tour of the LPGA.

Are women golfers more likely to accept, understand, use and benefit from ‘non-traditional’ performance enhancement techniques? Particularly techniques that call for the use of one’s intuitive facilities?
